Pioneer Living History Museum

pioneerHave you ever wished you could go back in time and see how people really lived in past centuries? Residents of Desert Shadows RV Resort in Phoenix can do exactly that when they visit the Pioneer Living History Museum, a fascinating recreation of an old 1800’s town.

Travel back to the Old West at this unique museum that contains historically accurate reproductions as well as authentic buildings, including a blacksmith’s shop, jail and sheriff’s office, along with an 1890’s dress shop and the Opera House where Lillie Langtry entertained. This blast from the past also has numerous other buildings such as a church, old school house and homes of yesteryear. The town’s costumed inhabitants of lawmen, cowboys and beautiful Victorian ladies will make the experience come alive.

As the museum covers 90 acres, plan on staying long enough to see it all. When you get hungry, drop into the Chuck Wagon for a burger or sandwich. Admission to this attraction is $7 and it is open on Wednesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
